Petritxol Street
Back to all places
This narrow and picturesque alley, barely three meters wide, is very popular in Barcelona for two reasons: the chocolate shops and the art galleries.
Petritxol Street is known for being the first pedestrian street in Barcelona, since 1959. As you stroll along, you will notice the characteristic ceramic tiles that adorn the facades. These small mosaics, not only embellish the path, but also narrate historical episodes, local traditions and scenes of daily life in Barcelona.
You can’t miss the traditional granjas, that is chocolate stores, famous for their hot chocolate with churros and typical Catalan sweets. Granja Dulcinea and Granja La Pallaresa, both with many years of history, are obligatory stops for lovers of traditional flavors.
The street has become known for its artistic heritage. You’ll find numerous art galleries, many of which have been family-run for generations, offering a variety of traditional and contemporary artworks.
