Rambla

We have just arrived at La Rambla, Barcelona’s most emblematic and vibrant promenade.

This bustling boulevard connects Plaça de Catalunya with the Columbus Monument, stretches for just over a kilometer and yet offers hours of pleasant strolling among its stores, gift stores, restaurants and the incessant flow of people who flock to it every day.

On La Rambla, you will discover some of the city’s most emblematic places.

Years ago, birds, rabbits, turtles and various small animals were sold on La Rambla, but this is no longer allowed.

There were also chairs on both sides of the street where people paid to sit and watch everyone go by. In 2000, these chairs were removed, and now there are some wooden ones that you will find along the path.

Walk along La Rambla until you find the Boqueria Market on your right.
